Kitchen Remodeling Project - Roessler Family
After completing other projects for the Roessler family they asked for ideas and plans for updating there floor to ceiling family room fireplace. They wanted clean lines with lots of texture and along with a new contemporary feel and look. With over a month of selecting tile and stone samples this grand project was starting to take shape. We are often asked to update a fireplace.
Old firplace mirror was removed without damage to adjasent floor or walls. Cardboard tempplates were used for customer to see scale and make a plan to help make decisions. A project like this will last for years and years so choosing size, color and texture are very, very important. Wood ceiling and walls were painted to match fireplace.
New kitchen highlights
18x18 tile added on the diagonal and matched to wood floor height in connecting office room
Old wood columns were skim coated to match walls and blend into room.
Mosaic slate tile was added floor to ceiling and cut to fit for drystack look.
Limestone was used on mantel and hearth to blend into surroundings colors.
Red glass hand laid into center of limestone mantel for design and color.
The Roessler family choose off white semi gloss paint on all wood parts of ceiling. New ceiling fan was purchased to add light and compliment look of room. New glass was also added at end to reflect suns heat during summer months.
